yup. thats why yahoo and msn takes time to load which google doesn't.. and hence me (and many others) love it..
fast is the thing i like the most.. but don't want to comment on better results..i think these days all search engines give very good results.. also, many MFA sites are creating problems with google.
See this thread: Google is merely perceived as being more relevant (and why) Google gives people what they are looking for. For webmasters, Google means traffic.
Honest results from the very beginning and no ads in their main search page! Google has always been my favorite search engine and it was my browser's homepage for many years, since 2001, a time when Google wasn't so popular yet and all the others SE, the popular ones, were only giving out paid results in the searches. Hat off for Google.
Why? Because of their age filter and Google's directory which takes their data from the highly manipulated DMOZ directory. Top page on google for commercial products will find a lot of old sites and DMOZ listed sites. That's just a fact. Older websites don't have to give the best price because they're #1-10. New websites that sell products have to compete, so they offer lower prices 9 of 10 times. If you look for a product on MSN for instance, you'll get pages in the top 10 that could have been created 2 weeks ago. Look for "best price x product." and MSN and even Yahoo will show you the most relevant, recent results. Not so for google. I think if most consumers knew this they wouldn't use google for commercial product searches and google's popularity would deminish. I'm going to release a few PR's on this subject after I'm doing doing my DD on the subject and getting my ref's in order. By the way, I know that MSN and yahoo get a lot of spam sites that can rank high, but maybe only 1-2 in the top 10 results.
That's a good question. Google has been better until recently. Now Yahoo and MSN catched up and as you noticed the same website appear in search results. That means competition got smarter.
