why is everyone turning to wordpress?

Are there still any decent money makers that use blogger instead of wordpress? What is it that wordpress has that blogger hasn't got anyway?

Come on, Blogger's fans, back me up here...

Wordpress on your own server has a whole lot of customizable features. There are loads of plugins, and because so many people use it, the support is great. It looks better too.

I prefer wordpress because it becomes your own when you install it and you can mess around with it.

In saying that, I have heard that blogger does have SEO benefits and things you post on there might show up in Google a lot quicker then a new wordpress site.

wordpress lets you control all the aspects of your blog, while blogger doesnt, if you are serious about blogging make the switch as early as possible

I chose it after reading some good reviews of it. Even if the div based design kinda made me want to kill someone, I was able to mess it as I needed. I have to say I am pretty impressed with it. And the Akismet plugin is a godsent

I'd heard that quite a while ago too, but it doesn't seem to be true. I had a blogger blog a while back (since switched it to WP), and it was picked up within a day or to. Then again, so are my WP blogs usually, so it wasn't really a benefit to useing Blogger. It was all in getting a few initial links up.

I believe it works that way if you have a completly new blog with no backlinks etc... but for already started blogs then you shouldnt see any difference.

Either way, I think wordpress is streets ahead :)

I meant comparing several, all completely new. ;) There really wasn't any difference between when I started that Blogger blog and when I start a new WP blog now. :) I agree with you though... WP is definitely far better imo. :)

Wordpress is simply better at what it does. Wordpress is easier to customize, it's not 'corporate' in the way the developers work and it's just a flat out great application.

Easy to install, easy to maintain, easy to run. Nothing beats Wordpress.
