Pagerank is just a tool to measure the weight of your site. That’s it. A tool. Pagerank is a by product of a site.
Toolbar PR has nothing to say about anything - not even the actual pr value, for that matter. There's no correlation between pr and serps, just as there's no correlation between pr and traffic. Do I want people to think I am beautiful (hey Contentboss) in terms of a 1 to 10 metric? No, I think I'd rather just be beautiful, it's actually a yes/no kind of thing.
Viewers often look at the PR as a measure of the site's popularity. And of course a high PR is helpful if you want to sell links. As far as I know it has no other purposes. Pages on my site having PR have seldom drawn any visitor. That job is almost always done by inner pages having no PR.
i think pr kinda make you think your doing the right job. and gives u more boost in getting more backlinks, that my opinion
Only webmasters are concerned with PR. Most people who shop online don't even have google toolbar installed let alone know what PR is. If you sell links or want to trade links, then you need PR. However PR has little benefit when it comes to ranking. It's one of 200 (or 10000) factors in ranking algorithm.
Yes you are right. I am not too concern about PR. Traffic is what I am looking for. To be exact, it is the targeted traffic that I need.
I am not the least bit concerned with PR. What I care about and every other webmaster should care about is traffic and how long that traffic stays at my site. And if my traffic will buy products or click links on my page. I say if your selling links and you have suckers that will buy them cause you have a high PR then go for it. I only buy links on sites that have lots of traffic, I never check PR. But thats just my .02
is that Google takes the PR of pages linking to your site into consideration as a major factor in their ranking algorithm. The reason why that PR2 site comes out on top is not just based on the PR of the page itself, but the PR of the site and more importantly, PR of sites linking into it.
People who focus on PR think that they need it to make money from their site. Well, I'm here to tell you that there's a lot more to making money from a website than a high PR. And did you know that some of the most successful websites could care less about PR? While you're running around trying to "up" your PR, your competitors are laughing as they watch the money roll in...
Very very little if so. I guess mostly those who trades links are worred about PR. As for me may be I'm whrong, but I even don't read threads like "Update PR" or similar.
i use to be bothered about pr on my site, after reading more and more into google, i found out pr is bullshit, it just gives webmaster wings that they probably doing the right job... Optimise your site, get to top 3 of google and get all the traffic u can get rather than giving ur self headache over pr
