Do you think we're doing great on that front now? Is Al Queda not now more determined than ever to attack us and building up their strength in Afghanistan while we flounder around in Iraq with no real idea of what "victory" is?

Do you think Al Queda is NOT using the war in Iraq as their biggest recruiting propaganda tool?

Do you think the absurd amount of civilian deaths in Iraq haven't created more terrorists and hatred towards America or do you think the war in Iraq has made people love us?

Before you try pointing at the lack of a "major" attack on U.S. soil since 2001, allow me to remind you. Al Queda planned that attack for YEARS before they executed it. You can only imagine what they are planning now. The war in Iraq was a speed bump. And ironically is probably pissing them off more and likely helping add just a little more FUCK YOU to whatever they are planning.

We need to go after them where they are. All we're doing in Iraq right now is trying to fix the mess we caused in the first place.

Americans are fighting and dying in Iraq right now for no other reason than to preserve what's left of George Bush's legacy. It's not a pretty truth and it's a tough pill to swallow. But it is the truth.

Isn't it because the Clinton administration failed to acknowledge Al Quida and let them grow as a terrorists group.

Democrats are soft and I see Obama as even softer.

I am not an American but what happens in America affects the whole world. If America wants to invade the whole world they can and when they get desperate they will.

Just don't let Obama soften the national security like the previous Democratic regime did and caused the twin towers to fall.

It is my opinion. I am not a racist rather it is just an observation.

I am a person of color myself.

Did they vote because of his policy or did they vote because he is black?

So in other words, No. You don't have an answer for my questions....

What was my point? That Barack is actually going to go after the terrorists where they are.

What's yours? Because frankly all I see in your posts is subjective opinion. What about Barack's plan to go after the terrorists where they actually are makes him seem "soft" to you?

Casualties of war - it is unfortunate but are they winning? YES.

You only see what the media reports and unfortunately BLOOD sells ratings.

I'll call a sniff, round 2. I can't know, of course, and could be wrong.

Oh no friend. Let me do what you failed to do. Address your point head on.

I absolutely concede it. Looking back at the facts, it's obvious that since 9/11 happened only a year and a half after Bush took office that you have to put some blame on the past president's performance.

But if you're being honest with yourself you too will concede that the blame can be argumentatively spread back to Bush 41 as well.

Now let's bring this thing full circle. Why do they hate us? Partly it's because we are a beacon of hope and democracy in this world. But the main reason? Religious ideology. I challenge you, nay, I dare you, to dispute that fact.

Our progressive history is thanks in part not only to our freedom, ingenuity, and capitalism, but also to our ability to let go of old thinking which is what they are fighting to hold on to.

So bringing the argument back around the circle again and stopping the blame..... They were going to hate us no matter what. What matters now is how we treat our enemy. You can't defeat hate with more hate. Because unless you plan to destroy every last religious ideologue on the planet, the idea that we can defeat them by just being tough and fighting them alone, is absurd.

We as a race have progressed to the point where we now and for some time have possessed the ability to destroy our world or at the very least ourselves. We have to win their hearts and minds and only defeat militarily the ones that can't be convinced to not hate us.

Isn't it possible that people had more than one reason to vote for Obama?

Like, his policies, his intelligence, and his race.

Did you not saw any coverage showing them that they never voted before until now? Only because he is black and a chance to win the Presidency.

    Isn't that pathetic though?

Again as my previous post has stated, it doesn't matter who you are as long as you can do the job right, who cares what your color is. But to vote because of the skin color is absurd.
McNabb of Philadelphia Eagles stated it is the first time he voted because of Obama and never dream a black man to be a president. Isn't that a racist comment?
I am not black or white but what is a race got to do with it like most of you have promoted.
What I see is a soft person that might jeopardize the security of the country and the world has to play catch up to protect the good people from bad. Like the previous Democratic regime that had failed to recognize the danger of Al Queda.
It remains to be seen what he can do. But Black this black who cares.
There are more blacks in prison and all of you try to hide that fact.

why only show the good side and not bad side.

I hope Obama does a good Job.

Nope, I missed that. So was there any estimate of how many people did that?

I think it's sad if this is what it took to bring people out to vote. Not pathetic, no. I guess there are some blacks who felt it didn't make any difference to them which old white dude got to be pres in the past. I don't agree, of course, some old white dudes are better than others IMO. But I can understand why a black person might have thought that.

I don't know why you think he's soft. I predict he will prove otherwise soon enough.

    HUH???

Yeah, I hope he does a good job too.

I like Obama for alot of the reasons already stated. He's intelligent, and in my opinion the obviously better choice. And no, I don't think it's pathetic for black people to vote for a black man running for president.
Afterall, in some peoples lifetimes they weren't able to vote because they were black, and now a black man is running for president.

Obama has inspired alot of people to get out and vote, I don't understand what the problem is if him being on the road to being the first black president gets more black people out to vote, whats wrong with that. I think it's the inspiration more than anything.

And from my understanding, we were attacked mainly for our support of Isreal from what Osama Bin Laden said, but I haven't exactly studied that issue extensively so..

Oh and btw, I'm black and I voted for Obama. One of the reasons was of course that he was black, but also I think he was obviously the better candidate. Although I did almost write in Ron Paul when I was up there :p

What makes Barack a "cool guy" or did he just get a free media pass there?

Last night I was watching Fox and the person they had on was saying how we shouldn't criticize Obama because he is "cool" and we haven't got to know him yet. The host was agreeing like a dimwit instead of asking critical questions.

For one thing, what makes Obama cool?

For another thing, if we haven't got to know him yet - why has he been elected?!
