Think about this for a second. It's the only fruit or vegetable that is named after its color. Why? It seems so normal to us. I mean it's not like i'm going to ask you to pass a "yellow" when I want a banana. Hey, can you go to the store and buy some "Purple's?" ...sounds weird... yep, grapes would be more appropriate. It would be kind of cool though if you could call Strawberry's "Red's" and kiwifruit's "Green's". I swear I am not on drugs or drunk, it just came to me.
Tangerines are named after the city of Tangiers in Morroco where they originally were developed.I wonder if there is a city by the name of "Orange"?
There's a town called "Orange" in Australia, I believe. Haha how funny. "Tangiers" was also the name they used on 30 Rock as the name to describe Tracey Jordan's "gay lion" tattoo lol.
Crikey! You know a lot. I like you by the way, thanks for replying to that question in the other thread about why I write my username the way I do lol. Kind of a random question coming off the quote in question.
@The Webby You're an orange colored cat....so you're the color of a "fruit"?....................hmmmmm? I'm in no way insinuating that Garfield the cat is gay @astroboi You've got to have a good sense of humor to make it here on "General Chat".We're all friends here and it's all in the spirit of fun.And yes we tease it other and you'll get your share of it too. By the way, welcome to DP.
Well i have never thought of this question, i don't even like orange but maybe the reason its called orange is because of where it originated from.
