Why is alive/aviva ranked #1?

Why does everyone rank these two so high. Other than all their pages being PR5, is there a reason that these are so much higher publicized, than other PR5+ directories?

 

They spend heap loads of money on promotion.

Ok, oodles and oodles? Lots and lots? Quite a bit? More than most?

Bottom line is these guys and a few other biggies know that you gotta spend money to make money. They are shrewd business folk and know how to do business in a respectful and professional manner.

I really would like to see more features for both directories. Anyway, those prices scare me, but I hope to buy a link from them in the future.

I'm not sure about their #1 status, I have seen other directories that are not too far away or equal to them. I guess in backlinks they can beat anybody without a doubt.

 

They are powerful directory, this is the only reason!

Alive and Aviva does matter

 

Alives 1.7 million backlinks makes it more powerful then any other directory bar Dmoz and it is well organized and professionally maintained, Aviva keeps knocking out killer articles getting shit loads of natural links, this has get to contribute to the link value of the directory plus it is well organised and maintained.

 

Has any proved all these points? I have read countless positive reviews and yet people keep asking - Is it worthy?

Why don't we create a new site or page and ask the owners to link for free (after all they will benefit from the results). NO links from anywhere else no promotion whatsoever, just ONE backlink from either directory. Even better one new site for each directory and compare both results.

This would be a good experiment to test and within a year or less, we could have an idea how powerful a link from each directory is.

Anyone would like to take this challenge? Or has a better idea?

 

I have a new algorithim(PD) as you know

which indicates the no of visitors to a site

My PR4 site has only ess than 100 visitors and has a Pagedata of 308

While Alive(PR6) has a Pagedata of some thing above 35000

A site having higher page data denotes that the site is frequented by more visitors

As you can see Alive has a higher pagedata which denotes that if you buy a link on alive it is more than worth it!

 

1. Tons of backlinks(10K+)
2. Famous ( most of DP members hear of them)
3. High PR(PR6 )

Well first and foremost they treat their respective Directories as a business

Then they provide top quality Support & Marketing, plus they are pro-active

yah, the amount of $$ they spend sometimes discourages me. They are literally buying advertising ALL OVER THE PLACE and you can see them ALL OVER THE PLACE.

 

Yup they are the big fishes and we are just tiny little ones which no one notices

 

it is not easy to say! lots of factors are involved, alive directory is an authority site, just like digital point!! even v7n is not an authority site
