Why .info domains worth so little?

I need to know like when I purchased one, it costs barely $2 while .com is like at least $10.

Is there a connection like for marketing and value purposes, .info can never outwin .com value?

I am looking to start a new hosting website but fear the .info domain will affect my site's value.

    Advice please thank you.

Because introductory price. I have seeing in the past days some .info doamins getting high rank in Google, so the .info price will raise very soon.

.info is intended for informative websites while .com is intended for commercial websites.

Also, people have been buying .info to create adsence for content websites due to their low cost. So in a way, most people sees .info as a low value non serious website.

So if you plan to start something serious, go for a .com.

Not many people take .info domains seriously nowadays because so many people use that extension for spammy, unbeneficail websites. Not all sites that have .info are spammy, but the large majority I'd say are. Plus, I'm pretty sure search engines rank .info domains lower than .com or .net. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's right.

.info domains are still great and cheap, they can be used for informative sites etc. I own many of them.

.info is for content websites not business sites.

Never use .info for biz main site coz it will give a bad impression for customer.
.com is more easy to remember.
If you are serious about doing long term biz then you should buy a proper .com domain or at least a .net domain.

Because .info is cheap, spammers buy them. Because spammers buy them, they have a bad reputation. Because they have a bad reputation, they have to keep the price low or else nobody will buy them at all.

The .info sites may not have the best reputation overall, but they can work out okay. I purchased one when all the other extensions of the domain name I wanted were taken, and it hasn't done all that badly. It becomes more important to have good enough content to get users, though, since most people will automatically gravitate to .com.

.info sites are supposed to be the vehicle to spread out information to the general public and is perceived to be a social service..and hence the pricing is low....imo

People like them to make adsense sites since they are so cheap. register 10 .info domains (0.99$ each from godaddy) and put some PLR content and put adsense on them. Now after one year see the stats

    Initial investment was like 10$/year

If every domain makes1$/month then we are looking at 10$/month for all of them and literally 365$/year leaving you with 355$ net profit/year

Now do that with 100 domains ? see how it works ?

PS: 1$/month per domain was just an assumption. it maybe 5 cents or 100$ :D
