Many people offer me seo service from India now and nothing wrong with it
But why Indian people take European name to introduce thenself?
I do not like such people who forgot their own roots. I am from Europe and have European name but I never sign my message by Indian name, even I am writing to India. I like Indian culture and know about it a lot, I appreciate any other nationality, but please, be yourself, do not introduce yourself by European name,do not betray your motherland, your families.

besides not wanting to seem like an Indian..

there may be many other reasons why they are using christian-sounding names..

-it may be their "pet name"....Jimmy, Vicky etc.
-many people use western names bcoz westerners can't pronounce Indian names. (my uncle in US has the same issue).
-it may be real name...there are Christians in India too....;).

Yes!!! Most of the people won't forget their own land. I am writing with my own name and getting paid for the same in my name. May some of them want to copy the European style.. :)

there are multiple reasons for that.

    1. Indian names are difficult to pronounce.
    2. The other name that people sign off with might be their nick at another place. I use my nick on wickedfire.
    3. Owing to the vast number of Indians here, the work flow has decreased for most of us. Maybe that's why. I've personally had clients who backtracked on their orders when they realized that I am an Indian.
    4. also, some people across the world think that Indians are synonymous with scammers and cheap labour. Maybe that's why as well.

Just my 2 cents. I hope your question is not about anyone in particular. thanks. No offense intended.

Indian names are basically impossible to pronounce so they choose other names.

there's a lot of reasons, but many of them have to do with assimilation and wanting to fit into the european culture. all different degree's of it though i'm sure.

Also, some people don't want to disclose their real name due to privacy or other reasons. So, they may use European names. :)

I think we Indians have copied it from BPO industry where they use other countries names to make customers happy.
P.S I always use my own name here and no one has discriminated me in DP because of that.

    I wont deny that.

    1. Some people use it as a pen name .

    2. Apparently Indian names are difficult to pronounce.

    3. Sometimes, When you know that I am Indian, you think that $5 for a 2000 word copyscape pass , unique article is too much for me.

I agree on the points they mentioned...asian names can be difficult to pronounce so some people use nick names so they can easily be recognized by their clients or just keeping their privacy.

Europeans and Americans find it difficult to pronounce Indian names. so either they go in for a short form, or they go in for names they can pronounce !

    Goods ponits
but believe me, European people can always say that "John" is not "John" at all simply from your messages
you use some words which never use in Europe in such context
    You try to be overpolite
You ask a good price, but if customer say "no" you are happilly drop the price in 4 times
About payment, yes you have to charge 10 times less than developed European countries, this is the market law
    take for example Chine
You have to attract customers - one
Indian workes are not in good reputaion in Europe ( sorry to say, many cheating people)
You have to work hard to change such opinion
You have very high competion amoung yourself
Finally, the price of living in India is much cheaper than in Europe
If you will charge same like European nobody fo to you ( I am sure 100%)
we have now East Europen country with low price and high quality
Again, I like one of the oldest Indian culture. I am keen on Eseteric, Ioga,Meditation.
    Just be realistic

Maybe they are from Kerala and you were mistaken as the Christian names used in Kerala are just like European names. Eg: vivian, thomas, robert, richard.... All these are common names used in Kerala.
