Why IE has more users?

Windows = Internet Explorer. People use IE because of windows. I have friends who doesn't use computer much, when they see firefox, they always asked and look for IE. Is it because it's much friendlier and easy to use?

ya Majorman is correct because mostly people use windows and IE is default with windows that only reason why IE is used so much.

 

On that thought, then what's stopping microsoft suing linux developers for including firefox or other browsers on their OS? xD

 

Coming to Nationwise. In India many people still don't know of internet. And people who knows something about internet would remember only IE as browser and google as the default search engine.. In my office too many of the people aren't fully aware of Firefox.

 

It's very simple, many people want just one single comment on their blogs from the visitors and they get maybe from 1% of the visitors a comment.

Windows offer IE already installed for the noobs and they are too lazy to find a new browser.
There is also a huge problem at the job. Many people use IE at work because they can not install anything different there.

But I think that Firefox did a really nice job eating the IE and always beeing 1 step ahead of them.
Now even the Chrome is getting bigger but it's still in Beta.

Poor Microsoft with their IE try to copy every other browser without using their code and when they finally did it! They are still failing because the other browser are getting a new update already with a lot of more features.

 

Two years ago I thought IE is the only browser we have.

 

1) Linux is not a monopoly on the desktop, that's why.
2) Linux is not a company.

Sometime this year, PC Vendors will be offering Google's Chrome as the default install, or at least an option, on new PCs. Several vendors are wanting to do this, according to Google last December.

 

i think because majority school teach computer/internet newbie how to use internet with IE, and every person who start use computer(window) are use IE to suft internet

 

The only reason that there are more IE users is that the browser is already pre-installed whenever you buy a new laptop or PC. I believe that answers it all. Thanks to Firefox and Google for giving us excellent alternatives.

i dont know others but IE offers more security such as difficult to put cookie or active x.

 

because alot of people has never used firefox, i was a loyal IE user until i found firefox, is that simple, and everyone i know that uses a computer i reccomend them FF

 

Wrong. IE has more security vulnerabilities than all other browsers combined according to Secunia.

 

most computers are bundled with windows OS that comes with IE... and there are a lot of computer users who dont know that much about other available browsers.

 

Well its because it is pre installed in windows. People are too lazy to switch to another browser.

and IE is in windows
and some people (yet many) don't know that other browsers exists!

 

Well, I think most people use IE because it is most compatible and looks good, especially is Windows Vista, Chrome is also good, but it is not much compatible with websites, firefox has many fuctionalities but eats a lot of RAM and looks ugly. Overall IE is the best in looks and working, it is easy too.

 

IE has a good look of all the browsers and best of all it comes pre-installed with the OS.
