Registering or renewing a domain name, starting July 1, 2010, is a bit more expensive now. No thanks to iCann's new increased fee rate.
I really do not understand why the price rise at this point of time? Due to recession... prices of anything and everything is going down, I wonder what are the costs involved that has seen the rise... to justify an increase? Regards, RightMan
I think they are working on some projects for making their services better, so they need to increase prices a little.
Is it really true that they are coming out with this tld... exclusively for adult content? I thought it was a joke! Regards, RightMan
Is there no competent authority who governs such matters? I hope these things are not left to the mercy of a single company or individual who would carelessly hold the whole world to its profit frenzy! Regards, RightMan
yep Verisign is the "bad" one Maybe they are jealous, because some domains are sold for millions and they get only $10/year
This is an interesting article on this matter: http://www.domainnamenews.com/registries/big-shocker-verisign-raises-prices-again/1492 So in other words, this may not be the last time in the near future we see this sort of thing.
Very intriguing deal that Verisign has there... a 7% increase yearly, is a bit steep... But that could also mean more deals over at your favorite registrar to offset the increase!! ... I know, I know, wishful thinking... lol
This is really bad. How can a single service provider who has to face no competition, be allowed to raise prices of such a magnitude... every year? This job has to be entrusted to a no profit organisation... and not some commercial company! Regards, RightMan
