everytime I hve used them they failed, always way off, very frustrating

also says google.co.uk will fall to an 8 (7.7)

with page rank the way it is these days anything could happen and would not surprise me.

At the end of the day it don't matter what the toolbar pr is, what matters is visitors.

There is a loose correlation between PR and visitors, but you're right people can get too focused on PR.

Any automated PR predictor IMHO or that I've ever seen is crap. The best predictor is your own mind i.e. your own investigation, what new links are you getting and what PR do the pages they are linking to you have?

I dont think all the predictors are crap, but yeah most of them are.

PR matters only if you are going to make any use of it (link selling)

predictors are useful if selling links,

while doing a link exchange someone wanting to exchange links with one of my new sites with 0 PR they said i would have to give them four link backs as they were going to give me a lin from pr5 page.

i thought fair enuff, so they uploaded the link and gave me the url, when i checked the page had no PR at all.

when i asked he said that was his predicted PR not actual. Now usually i aint that bothered about PR but because of his stupidity and ignorence i pulled out of the deal.

Expected and attained are completely different, just goes to show how people can misinterpret or even misuse PR and predictable PR

There are really suspicious pr prediction tools. I tried several before I made my pr inbound link analyser and prediction, and all of them were really unreliable. Finally, I saw how one of them predicts it. They say.. if you have let's say 300 backlinks you will probably get PR4... Etc. They predict PR based just on number of backlinks.

I decided to publish algorithm for pr prediction my tool use.

Note that tool in fact use original PR algorithm with some approximation.

I'm really satisfied with its result, and if you are not, please let me know.

None of them could possibly work; if they did, the person who created them would have quite an insight into the pagerank algorithm.

Alot of people are going about web designing all wrong... PR doesn't madder, SEO shouldn't madder.

You should find something there is no market for and is needed, then make good content. If you make it, they will come. If you cheat, they will find out! Did google start out by scamming the big search engine? Did W3Schools? Did MSN, Yahoo, DMoz, Digital Point??? ... NO! Why is it there best and didn't use SEO, PR, and other cheating tools to get there?

PR is just the answer to "how is my site doing on a scale of 1-10?" You just ask your friends.. "well it's not the big boys but it's good, umm... 5-6". You know?

I can take another example (DP and some people in DP) .. DP isn't in it for the money, just here to provide a good service and there recieving 100K? But then the are people scamming with SEO, cloakes, hidden text, hidden links... and are making $0.03 a month, then they say google hates them. Maybe DP is on to something.

PR predictors are confidence boosters. If you are a newbie and see that you may be getting some PR, you usually work that much harder. At least that what happened for me, and some sites exceeded the prediction.

I updated the underlying algorithm for better handling of some cases.
Thank you for all persons on this forum who provided my examples of sites for which tool has bad predictions.

most of them do not work correctly(including the the one given above). i think we should concentrate more on SEO, instead of wasting time on PR prediction.

Page rank predictors are not reliable. One of my sites was showing page rank of 4 but on google update it actually came out to be 3.
