It's always sad when a life is taken under these circumstances, particularly when there are young children involved. My condolences to the family. What many people seem to forget is that many people also die in car accidents, and in country areas of Australia, there have been many tragedies where 5 teens in a car get killed, usually due to speed, alcohol and inexperience. This has become a major issue in Australia over the last 10 years, and I once lost 5 friends in exactly that way in 1 accident. I have also lost many young friends in motorbike accidents. I have raced motorbikes, and have been riding nearly 40 years and had a few bad ones myself. As a rider, you must always be aware of everything around, including cars in yards and side streets etc. Car drivers must also learn to be aware of motorcycles, instead of not caring because they don't get hurt.
Also, being on a motorcycle doesn't mean you race past everyone and don't stop for other people to pass at the crossroads, you should be most patient, I usually stop at crossroads and intersections and allow the traffic to clear before I pass, its better late than never! IT
