That was a very gross and sad news. God Bless them.. My uncle was also riding a motorcycle that was 2 years ago and had an accident one of his leg's bone was broken but thank God he recovers fast..
Sorry to hear that.. I have a lot of friends riding motorcycles including me and some of them died already because they're always drunk driving. But me im always alert when im driving but accident cant be avoid..
sorry... i hate bikes as well.. any thing can happen, and even the smallest accident on a bike could be fatal..
A terrible accident should not promote hated of anything, in your case motorcycles. People who ride, well most of them, know the risk they are under. It really is up to them to improve their skills and keep loved ones updated and involved with their progression. Its understandable your frustration and desire to hate what was involved in a sad situation, however your growing hatred is detramental to all future riders you come across. You are working on a bias against motorcycle riders and it will unfortunately limit you socially with them. Hate is not a good thing. Your feelings for your friends are most likely very strong, but please think about how you are really feeling and don't judge others by their desires. I speak from experience in the 20+ years of riding...and unfortunately laying to rest several close friends due to accidents where the driver of the other vehicle was proved to not be paying attention. However I don't have a hated for drivers of cars, after all I too drive a car and would it make sense to hate myself? The fact is many motorcyclist must learn how to be invisible, that is to say they must ride as if no one out there sees them and they must be extremely alert. It's sad that there are no drivers education place in the world that emphasis paying attention to motorcyclists and even more sadly, no way of making people take a driving refresher course every 5-10 years. I have found in my own experiences that riders (motorcycles) are safer drivers than those who don't ride as they are used to looking further ahead for things they need to avoid. It's unfortunate that there is little to no protection for riders as in your friends case, something may have distracted him or he was looking in another direction when the bus became a threat...there is virtually many reasons why this happened. Howerver the point is don't jump to judgement or hate, instead do what you can to help him and his family.
you are overreacting. i hate motorcycles, have no plans of ever riding one. I don't hate the drivers, they are taking the risk so I don't really care. that's all I wanna say period.
Its the kids I feel sorry for, try to be there for them it will be very tough. This is what were up against in some parts of Thailand. An armored tank would be the most suitable form of transport here, the roads are total anarchy, no rules, no highway code, nothing... every one for themselves. Video Clip
In my town, a group of bikers were on a charity ride (for cancer, I believe). A heroin addict swerved into the middle of the group killing one and injuring many. He had his daughter in the car with him. The guy who died was a friend of our family. The worst part was, his wife was riding on the back with him and was in a coma after the accident. When she woke up she kept asking how here husband was doing. So sad. The kicker was the guy who crashed into the bikers had a suspended license. He posted bail and was released. Some how, he still had access to a vehicle and was pulled over a week later and was found with 20+ bags of heroin in his sock. What a joke our legal system is.
I am so sorry to hear about that tragic accident. I have never liked motorcycles. You can hardly ever see them coming. People who ride them are so vulnerable. I don't think wearing a helmet is enough. vlschieltz
Shouldn't you hate cars for running over motorcycles? If you want to live a 'safe' life, you can lock yourself in the house and browse the net/watch TV all day. That works for many people. But some people find exploring and trying things as the fun of life. Riding is one of those fun things. Yes I ride... Personally, I know I can't eliminate all the risks associated with riding, but there are ways to minimize those risks. One thing that always gets me is people who wear no proper gear. Especially the cruiser riders who wear very little protection, often wearing fake helmets. So if you have friends who ride, tell them to wear proper protection: a) full face helmet, b) moto specific gloves, c) moto specific jacket, d) moto specific pants, and e) moto specific boots. I know several riders who would've walked away from their accidents if they had their gear on, but instead they spent months in the hospital and rehab... So yeah... if you have friends that ride... make sure they wear full gear...
Just don't drive too fast. Keep yourself limited to 60 kmph. Also, keep the motorcycle under complete control at all times, wear a good quality helmet and take care of the gears. If an accident is about to happen and can't be avoided, LEAVE The motorcycle and jump. Thats it.
...And just 47 days later since I posted this thread, another person we know have died by motorcycle accident. He's only 31, a physical therapist. His girlfriend is a doctor and he just came back from Singapore and just a few days through his return, he got hit by a speeding car while he's riding a motorcycle even when wearing a helmet. Poor soul
