    Hi

ADMIN PS: This thread is related to Google results with my site as an example

I m ranked top for few common adult words BUT i get major traffic from india and less from USA

    >> All the content is english based and there are not even 1 indian video
    >> servers are in usa
    >> in webmaster tools site geo location is set as USA
    >> major direct users are from USA
    >> only the thing is im from india

still im not sure WHY im getting Top indian rankings & on .com im on page 2 + no other country traffic or ranking is as big as india

do u have any similar experience ... do tell how to get rid of it

Please check these out and answer yourself questions first.

    1. What is your domain TLD? Is it generic or country specific domain?
    2. Where is your site hosting for now?
    3. Where did you get links from?
    4. Did you ever set "Specific Country" in Google Webmaster Tools?

You have already specified that your hosting is in USA and you have mentioned site Geo location as USA in Google Webmasters tools. Assuming that you are using .com domain & you are referring to search engine traffic from USA visitors compared to Indian visitors then the likely possible reason seems that you need to do SEO for your site so that it ranks better for USA SERPS. It may be that the keywords for which your site gets traffic has less competition from India and more competition from US so your site ranks better for Indian search results.

But the traffic and me from India lol :p

I feel that Google checks WHOIS information also and your whois details must be of India.

all that does,it tells google you don't want traffic from other countries.doesn't mean you'll get more visitors from the US.
weather that works is another matter. ;)

    why,isn't it true?
i don't think they do that.
a lot of people have whois protection and most of them are with a US address.
they know where your from when you log in GWMT.

I have the same feeling sometimes. They will also be easily be able to understand the fact that you visit your own site a lot than others in the beginning.

Or maybe your site capture Indian interest than Americans.. Better incorporate some specific terms like states or cities in US in your content..

I suggest you to do keyword research again for your website. See what people are typing in US for searching your website topic.

Find those keywords and insert them into your website.

Why not try to do a little tweaking with your site's SEO? you might be lacking exposure for US. Try to promote your site in US forums. Attract users to visit your site.

simply, the keywords you targeted or automatically ranked top by SEO might just have more Indian searches than US or any other country...
