Why i dont have the recent post feature at my WP blog?

Guys i keep asking someone or posting this kind of questions on other forums and the answer is always the same. My question is how to add a "Recent post" feature at my blog and they say its in the presentation section then widgets. but i cant see that in my WP blog. im using the version 2.1 is there something wrong with my blog?

do you have the widgets.php in your include folder, wp-admin?

 

If this is a self-hosted blog, then you'd need the Recent Post plugin. Have a look here:

first is the theme u r using widgetable?
then have u install widget plugin ?

...if yes then you may add a recent post widget by drag n drop to sidebar....else just install widgets and make theme widgetable if it is not.

Also u may directly edit your template's sidebar to add recent posts...but that needs some expertise..

I just install the widgets coz its not built-in at 2.1 version?
