When I type "Gdansk airport transfer" into Google then the #2 spot is taken by http://www.gdansktravel.com/. However, when I look at that page and expect to see a well optimised page with plenty of relevant content for my keyword search all I can actually see is a weak page with a sub heading for "airport shuttle" which doesn't even have a live link associated to it. In fact, the rest of the site is a mystery to me ! The home page has a PR of 2 but most of the links on the right hand side of the page are dead. The links on the left hand side of the page are pretty weak too. Anyone have any ideas as to why this site is ranking so high ? It's not only for this keyword but for some others that I am competing for.
This term only returns 133,000 results. Any decent SEO can get on G's front page without breaking a sweat but I'm seeing it on page 5 at the moment. Were you using google.com?
the domain is registered yr 2004 and has Gdansk word on the domain maybe the reason why the site is ranking, though i don't see the site rank on "Gdansk airport transfer" on google.com .
You could get up there in a matter of weeks! Why not put the link in your sig, that will boost your rankings!
Sorry. I forgot to mention that this example applied to google.co.uk Vithca, I agree that in time a bit of SEO work should help secure a high position in the rankings. My question stems from the fact that the page doesn't appear to have had much SEO work done on it. The page has "Gdansk" in it's domain name and "airport shuttle" as a sub heading (although this particular sub heading is dead as there is no link assigned to it). I'm puzzled as to how it can get to #2with virtually no content.
A backlink check shows only 58 links, and a lot of these seem to be from a network of similar sites. Some have decent PR though and, more importantly, they are on-theme. See krakowtravel (.) com for example. I'm still only seeing it on page 2 on google.co.uk, which is about right considering the links and content. I suspect that, since this is a low competition term, Goolge is happy to show it for a related term to the link and content. Airport shuttle = Airport transfer for example.
nothing strange. that keyword phrase ranking is still weak. you can get top five in no time. but for what. the daily search is not even recorded with any keyword research tools.
You're not doing yourself any favours giving your competitor a backlink from this thread including all the keywords! I'd edit the http://www. out of your first post so its not a live link.
It's been said. All about that keyword density, it is really not that popular a term so most people would be able to get their keyword forced up to the front if they know what they are really doing. The website isn't aweful, as it does have enough content to merit that placement in my opinion.
