just when i thought i knew what to expect from the google dance after 5 months, i was wrong... it just went back to 14th which is pretty much where it started before the big drops. I just hope it stays there now and doesnt move again. Thanks for the advice everyone, i dont know if it had anything to do with it but i added new content(since about a week and a half ago) and removed some amazon adverts that wern't converting too well anyway. I don't know if it had anything to do with ranking returning but might be worth a try if anyones in the same situation. thanks again.
is there nothing we can do if somebody duplicate our content then? also dreads when you say "for example, lets say you are getting a backlink from a pr 3 page that had 5 external links, now it might have 10, so you just lost some juice, and this lose can built up -_-" do you mean now it has 10 backlinks to 10 different websites therefore the juice is spread with these other sites and not just yours?
I just found a site that has copied 223 words, they did not even bother to change any from my site. I have just emaild the owner (name off whois) and informed him that Google have told me to initially ask him to remove the content, if he does not I have a right to ask him to be removed frolm Google. I hope that works!! If not, I will seek advice from Google. I have dropped from 3rd for Royal Caribbean earning me loads to about 100th.
Google finally cached my new content, but it did not affect my rankings much.. i guess i will just wait, pray and hope i get back to the top 10
I also experience the same thing. If somebody nick my content, what can i do other than change my content? Can i just report it to google or something? This is unfair...
i don't think it matters if people steal your content as long as google found it at your site first. All other duplicates wont rank very well in the SERPs and shouldn't cause much threat.
