Why have I to raise minimum bid?

On average most of my adwords clicks are in the region of £0.10 - £0.20. However I also find phrases that nobody else is using on adwords, so why when I put the absolute minimum bid here, they show ok for 30 min or so, before google decide that if I want to continue with these particular phrases I must increase my click cost by £0.02. I am the only person with this phrase, nobody else, so why cant I have it at the minimum.

They decide it by the quality score. Many pro's in adwords are able to get many clicks at 1 cent, but you must optimize the landing page very well for each separate keyword.

Yeah..that is the amount to pay if you are running an excellent ad with an equally good ad score. So, take your time, optimize your ads, improve your quality score, and start paying less than what you are doing actually.

Hope this is of some help to you..!!!!

    Yeah... just to expand...

Just because no one else is advertising under certain keywords doesn't mean Google will just allow any old crap to go there... they still want all the pre requisites they stipulate as usual.

    Cheers

... Yes, and that is why you might initially be able to purchase a keyword for five cents and have the keyword turn inactive.
