Hi fellow Webmasters, After spending years in WordPress development and technical SEO, I’ve noticed a major shift. While everyone is chasing expensive monthly subscriptions for all-in-one SEO suites, most of the actual "optimization" happens through small, focused technical utilities. I’ve spent the last few months building a dedicated hub called Wp Skillz, where I’ve developed over 20+ "handmade" tools. My goal was to create lightweight, high-accuracy utilities that solve specific problems without the clutter. Some of the core tools I've developed include: AI Content Integrity: A high-precision detector specifically tuned for GPT-5 and Gemini-level text to help maintain human-centric SEO. Performance Auditing: A PageSpeed Insights alternative that deep-dives into Core Web Vitals and specific script bottlenecks. Professional Utilities: A free builder for ATS-friendly CVs and a website technology scanner for competitor research. I believe that for small business owners and independent developers, having access to these precision tools is more effective than paying for data you’ll never use. I’d love for the community here to check it out and give me some feedback on the tool accuracy or what else I should add to the collection. Check out the full toolkit here: Free Tools Looking forward to your thoughts and suggestions! Best, Waseem (Founder, Wp Skillz)
Nice ad for your tool. But a handmade tool Vs a vibe coded one there isn't much difference for functionality.
I think the difference is not really about replacing Ahrefs or Semrush. Those tools are great for things like backlinks, keywords, competitor data, etc. But a lot of technical SEO work I do doesn’t require a huge database behind it. Sometimes I just need a fast tool that checks one specific issue and gives me a clear answer instead of digging through 50 different reports. Big suites are powerful, but they also come with a lot of features most people never touch. The real question is whether the handmade tool saves time and gives accurate results. If it does, I can see why some people would prefer it for specific tasks.
