Why Google/Yahoo does not like my site?

My posting is somehow related with my other posting at:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=78232

My job posting site is about 10 months old, has page rank 3, also listed with domz and other directories. I put considerable amount of posting with related user forums and other discussion groups. I rank 2 with MSN but no luck with Google or yahoo; not even in top 100.
It frustrates me because some other irrelevant and junk sites even rank before me. What am I doing wrong? The keyword I am after is not that competitive either.

If anyone wants to take look at my site and give me some suggestions I will be happy to PM my site and keyword.

    thanks,
    rahman

    Hi Rahman,

Just from taking a look at your home page, I can suggest the following changes:

    1. Shorten the page title to just 'GIS Jobs'
    2. Include 'GIS Jobs' in your *content* as well as your links (aim for roughly 3%-6% keyword density)
    3. Use H1 tags, bold, OR underline to emphasize your keywords (only one at a time)
    4. End your page with 'GIS Jobs'

This just covers on-page factors, but should help a bit. Ideally, you should have your main keywords in your URL, as well, so this is something else to consider. Finally, creating inbound links that include 'GIS Jobs' in the anchor text will probably help more than all of my suggestions combined - especially if you can get links from authority sites.

    HTH,
    Sam
