I saw a site being put for sale in sites (trade) forum and it has been banned from google and yahoo.

I wonder why websites are banned by google and yahoo and once they are banned any chance to get back into those search engines after sometime.

websites are banned for doing shady seo tactics. yes they can be reinstated after a time but its not worth the hassle when you can purchase a new domain.

Google & Yahoo banned the sites because of sites are using black hat SEO techniques. Aim of Google / Yahoo is to showing best results related to user query. so thats why they are banning the sites which are spammy.

Yeah banned sites can back into the SERP. But for that site needs to remove unethical techniques and send request to search engines. (ITs taking much time to rank well for banned site)

The most important thing is that your site doesn't appear spammy to Google.
That is the first thing they look for. :)

Google and Yahoo and looking out for sites that use Blackhat techniques, and these can get your site into a world of trouble. Better to start anew if it happens.

they want the best result for their users. Most of the time your conscience will let you know if you are doing shady techniques or not.

if they do not ban, u can buy a domain today, and add your link at pr 7-8-9 sites with money. and everybody will do like that. then, how will google or yahoo know the best sites about the searched keywords? ban is nice.it is helpfull to the webmasters who writes they pages themselves.

Some obvious blackhat methods like keyword stuffing, buying links from link farms, cloaking, spamdexing, etc.

yeah!! When a site goes against the norms and conditions given by search engine then it always prefer to ban the site. And chances to get overcome from this is very low.

But if you change the content entirely different, there might be good chance to lift ban, I think.

search engines hate website that are using black hat strategies just to be on top 10 results. SE are created to provide the most informative and quality results for the users so if google & yahoo allowed those strategies and let trash website to be on top, they might lose their reputation...

Do not use black hat seo techniques. It includes keyword stuffing, hidden text, cloaking, doorway pages, excess links from link farms. You can request to google and yahoo to visit again your website. But it is not sure when will you re-indexed again. If you already banned then purchase a new domain and use white hat seo techniques to improve its ranking.

They gat banned and removed from the search engines index because they are using on or offsite black hat seo techniques and don't know what they are doing, the pro's know how to keep their black hat website under the radar of search engine algorithms
