I'm surprised when I have visited the Alexa site and find that Google where behind Yahoo! at number 2 spot on site ranking? It seems that Google rules the net, but does it means that Yahoo! owns to have lot of information on their site? That people used to visit more often. What do you think?
I believe it si because Yahoo has more pageviews. They offer alot more services then Google hosted under Yahoo.com
Hi, There is a very simple logical answer for that. Google, unlike Yahoo! - using almost all existed suffix's, therefor Alexa don't count Google.de, Google.co.il, Google.co.uk among Google.com. Unlike www.Yahoo.de (redirect) to de.yahoo.com, so all languages included among Yahoo.com, if Yahoo would do the same they were probably way behind Google. Tho, Google going to pass that as well sooner or later
alexa doesnt have enough users to get the exact right data. just use alexa roughly and you will have a good idea about the quality websites
Google.com.sa Google.com.eg Google.co.uk Google.ae Google.com Google.com.kw Google isn't just one Domain That's why , btw Y! is so far from Google's high traffic .
While Alexa number can't relied, Alexa still a great tool to compare traffic between sites. Yahoo is ranked above Google in Alexa because Yahoo gets more traffic than google. Remember, Yahoo is not just a serach engine. It is a complete portal with lot of stuff from email to shopping. -Neo
I believe Alexa have more respect for Yahoo than Google. Furthermore, Yahoo is elder brother to Google.
Also, Google powered the search results of other sites which is not counted for google yet the traffic is truly belongs to Google.
Yahoo is actually used more overall, especially in Asia where Yahoo provides plenty of services and language support. Google is just a search engine with a few services and a whole lot of useless software.
Alexa users are webmasters and most of them are Google haters that most aren't using Google on their search.
