Guys, Did you notice that Google Knol website, if use keyword Knol, appear above the knol wikipedia. Knol wikipedia page has PR6 and Google knol page has recently launched and still has PR N/A. How can Knol website beat wikipedia? or It's just a Google product so Google boost I wrote a post also on this here. Share your thoughts.

What you see as n/a is actually not n/a. What I mean to say is that the pagerank is a dynamic thing that is always being updated in google, only because they update the pagerank in toolbars/dcs at a period of time doesn't mean that the page rank is exactly that. Google is pr 10 and almost any page google publishes automatically pops up at pr 6/7 (just a thought because of the authority issue). So since the pagerank is dynamically equal or higher, plus its the official site, you see the main page on top of the wiki version.
I am not sure, if it's true. As Google says PR is more of backlinks. If no one is linking to that new page, how it can get PR6/7. If it gets then that is not fair at all.
The new pages will get pr 6 and 7 because the homepage is pr10 this is possible without gaining any backlinks.
Google lost billions of dollars in potential earning from paid clicks because of Wikipedia. 25% of SERPs go to Wikipedia. So, the clever Google has to put up a site that must beat Wikipedia.
But only in search results when search for knol. I dont think Knol has a great future as Wikipedia. For me, i feel it a junk created for serving ads.
