Why Google itself has PR8 and not PR10?

    If PR of a site depends on the back links, link popularity , blah blah blah..

    why google it self has PR8 and not PR10 ?

    I dont believe google is not having enough back links or link popularity and so on to have a PR10.

    check google home page for www.google.co.uk

    also http://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GFRC,GFRC:2007-06,GFRC:en

    What could be the possible reason to have a PR8?

    If backlinks were the case what about these,

    http://slashdot.org/ PR9 has 0 backlinks from iwebtools

    http://www.google.co.uk PR8 has Total Backlinks: 104,030 from iwebtools.

    www.stumbleupon.com/ PR8 has 0 Back links

    If backlinks does not matter for PR of above sites, Why do Directory submission for PR factor? If fact I own a few directories now.

    why google PR is under ranking its own home page?

    Coz it is expected to have enough link popularity and back links also its a page of google.

    In spite of so many factory why is it having only PR8?

    because google.co.uk probably has less backlinks than google.com

    they will be treated as different sites in the google algo...

    lol, one PR10 domain can't make another PR10 I guess. So , Google have to buy links from several High PR sites :p

    The co.uk version has less backlinks, and Google Pagerank system and basically the whole Google network is an automated service (it's not like they go through all the web sites, and give them a Pagerank)
