I have one idea. Some time ago they change Google workflow. They make iteration (code update) every 6 weeks, like they do in Chrome project.
Hello, I did not find the answer for the small updates, but here is an interesting history of the major updates past the years. You may find some reasons of the important updates that were made: http://moz.com/google-algorithm-change Thank you and good luck
Now you have the answer/s to your question, Anurana. Content Maestro gave a good explanation. With Google constantly making updates (for reasons you know already know), it is a must that we keep up with the changes. Be prepared to do some frequent modifications. But I think as long as you have good quality sites and you are not spamming, you need not worry too much.
Every year, Google changes its pursuit calculation around hundreads of times. While the vast majority of these progressions are minor, Google periodically reveals a "major" algorithmic upgrade, (for example, Google Panda and Google Penguin) that influences indexed lists in huge ways. Google propelled the Penguin Update in April 2012 to better catch destinations esteemed to be spamming its query items, specifically those doing as such by purchasing connections or getting them through connection systems composed fundamentally to support Google rankings. At the point when another Penguin Update is discharged, locales that have made a move to uproot terrible connections, (for example, through the Google deny connections apparatus or to evacuate spam may recover rankings. New locales not beforehand got strength get caught by Penguin. "False positives," destinations that were gotten by mix-up, may get away. For inquiry advertisers, knowing the dates of these Google overhauls can help clarify changes in rankings and natural site movement and eventually enhance website streamlining. Beneath, we've recorded the major algorithmic changes that have had the greatest effect on search.
Google update its algorithms and become strict for SEO day by day. It is also good for online marketing. Google only ranks the sites which are having good SEO work.
FYI, these updates have different tasks... here you have "better" explanation: https://moz.com/google-algorithm-change
So far I welcome updates, I only use good practices so it suits my purposes and clears out competition. However I'm sure everyone gets hit by chance once in a while I really try to focus on content and genuine links http://inboundtech.co/2015/05/17/mcommerce-inbound-native-marketing/
They hate spammers on internet. And they really hate them because their sites usually get ranked on Google SERPs. So they have to update their algo in order to find new updated ways to combat these spammers from getting inside the SERPs. I think this is good because this makes many webmasters or bloggers improve their quality especially in serving better quality contents that help users solve their problems. It actually has impacted me as a blogger because after my websites got hit by Google Panda and Penguin updates, it finally makes me realize that I have to make websites/contents that help people, not just for the shake of getting money from it. The most important thing is helping people solve their problems. If you can keep doing this consistently, I think Google will start liking your website and more than happier to give you traffic every day.
The reason Google is doing that is very simple. We're living in an era in which things are moving at a very fast pace, so they have to make sure that they keep up with the system. The main reason Google is doing that is to protect the integrity of their search results. Since they are on the top, they're doing their very best to ensure that they remain there. Since nothing is eternal as far technology is concerned, who know if they will not be passed by another search engine in the future.
Get question! I have a few ideas about that, but I'll try to keep it short with a few reasons why I feel they keep making updates: 1) It's a quality issue. As the worlds largest search engine Google is trying to make sure, for the most part, that the results people find when searching for something are relevant, trustworthy, and exactly what their searchers are looking for. 2) People continually find new ways to "cheat" in order to get page 1 rankings. I'm not here to say or judge one way or another that black hat SEO is better or worse that white hat... I'll just say that my time doing SEO particularly for the Google search engine for business, since 2003, has shown me that just as much effort(if not more) is put in blackhat seo than whitehat seo. The biggest difference is that whitehat SEO is for the most part penalty free. Basically, follow the rules(Google's TOS), and you'll probably never be hit by a Google update. Got more questions on this, feel free to PM me. I don't want to highjack your thread in even start that debate. 3) Google updates make SEO easier. The more Google shows us which methods do not work, it results in being able to see much clearer why the top10 ranking sites in the SERPs rank in the order that they do. Secondly, it makes more and more people that do short term or shady SEO give up on the niche... which means you have to compete with less people to get to page 1. 4) It makes money... for Google. Every time there is a major Google update, it makes the digital marketing world go crazy any everyone is talking about it. Thus creating more free content about the company and keeps people on their toes. I could go more into this, but I won't. 5) There is no way to configure a search engine once, and be done with updates. History has shown that technology doesn't work like that in most cases. I'll stop there. If you have more specific questions about this, feel free to reach out to me at any time. Nomvo!
