for example, for keyword: wedding websites Only 280 monthly searches in Google Search-based keyword tool, url: www.google.com/sktool/ But, 74,000 local monthly searches in Google AdWords keyword tool, url: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal I set both site above to Locations: United States, Languages: English, so I should get similar results, but I don't. I tried other keywords, and I saw the same thing. Can the experts here help me to understand why there are such a huge difference here? The data in www.semrush.com shows 24,474 average monthly search volume, which claims the data is also from google local version. Which one is more accurate - close to the real number?
I ask Google, and here's the answer: So, you can use sktool to dig what keywords are optimize for given URL While KeywordToolExternal to research the keywords of general population. cheers, Sam ps. I suggest you to tell Google that 280 compare to 74000 is not SLIGHTLY different
Every Google product have it's own Help section, Blog, and Forum. If not Google staff, other forum member will answer, just like what we do here in DP.
You know some trick are not reveled to everyone. Your using two or three different tools which will have different results every time for obvious reasons. They will not answers questions which do not deserve a answer. As it has been stated in the past by Google. They know they have a problem and are working on it. Nothing will ever be perfect. As for as using semrush or any other after market keyword tool you will ALWAYS get different results. I can not say this enough time. Google is the ONLY ONLY ONLY one that knows how many searches are made per month. Unless your using external tools for combining and making up keywords you do not need any of them. Google tools are KING. So to conclude: if your using ANY Google tool you need to be aware how they work and their purpose in use. Google has many great tools and they all are different. Some for general use and some for Adwords users. Values are calculated differently in many cases. If your a adwords user they will give you stats based on adwords trends for example.
