Dear all, I search a keyword in Google using IE and Firefox. Both browser give different result with the same URL. Which browser should I trust? Thanks.
There may be chances that you are getting results from different data centers of google, However I never came acroos such situation.
Browser does not effect any result in Google. However if you want to know which browser to trust it would be FF. Why> Its because Google has a big tendency to be bias to IE
NEVER believe the results you see on your own browser - it'll be affected by your cookies, your browser history, what other services you are logged into - and those will be the reasons you see different results in different browsers
yes, i got it too. there is a different search result between IE and mozilla. i thought that google loved IE -.-"
It may be possible if you do not delete the search history. Let say if you continuously use firefox for search the same keyword, then google will show the same results as it is saved on the cookie, so you have delete the cookie of your browser and you can see the new search results.
Right, just to clarify... Google has now deployed personalized search for all of it's users. This means that your search history (over the last 180 days) will affect your future searches. In other words, if you search 'Internet Marketing' lots and lots of times each week, and you click on one site in particular, Google will learn to rank this site higher than the rest of the sites in the index. The reason why you are seeing different results in different browsers is because the search history Google is collecting, is based on browser history - in other words, if you use Firefox as standard, but then revert to using Internet Explorer, search history will be collected separately for each. You can turn off this facility by choosing 'Web History' from the top right-hand side of the Google interface, and following instructions.
As you know SERP is constantly changing as Google updates their databases. Also all the datacenters might not have same results, depending on the update status. So I would say it would be either of those two causes above.
google spys on you and stores the search data. if you are logged in to google and make a search, google will keep that record for about 18 months and will deliver future search result based on your previous search history. so if you are logged in to IE and make a search, then you go to FF and make a search without being loged in to google, you will most likely see different results
Delete the cache and cookies from you all 3 browsers, there are chances you will see the same result.
