Why google does not show all back links?

As we know google is the biggest search engine of this IT world and then why google does not show all back links as compare to yahoo and msn show all back links and Why it is very complicated to get rank in google now again as compare with yahoo and msn?

 

Google doesn't evaluate every link the same. It choses some and it refuses some.
Difficult to rank in Google? You should know what's important for Google. Content and high PR backlinks - at least until recently - were important.

 

Google ignore most of backlinks. Depend by quality of backlink

 

I have a question about those back links.

if I type in Google search box:
w w w.m y s i t e.c o m --> it comes up 462 results for w w w.m y s i t e.c o m

when I type in the same box:
link:w w w.m y s i t e.c o m
comes up 1 result linking to w w w.m y s i t e.c o m

So: do I have only 1 backlink or 462, according to Google?

(BTW, according back link checker, I have around 200 backlinks)

 

google only shows a sample of your total backlinks...I'm not sure why they do it....probably because they don't want you to seek out and get links from the same place where you competitors have links....trust me, the see all your links...

It is harder to rank in google because their is more competition....everyone wants to rank well in google, msn and yahoo is secondary

 

If you type your website in google searchbox you will see only the pages that have the text www.yoursite.com and that are indexed in google.

If you would like to see how many pages are indexed in google you must use site:http://www.yoursite.com.

And if you would like to see how many backlinks you have for your website use the link command.

 

Quality ... Google is all about and for Quality .. Build a quality website and soon you'll see that you'll be ranking a lot better and get even better traffic compared to other SE's from Google alone.

ok, I have used link command I saw only 1 link, and it's my link in Yahoo directory.
Does it mean, that Google count only ONE of my 200 links?
Does it mean that I am wasting time linking to many directories?

 

No, Google is counting "all" your backlinks but they only show a sample of generally the higher quality backlinks with a link: command. Sign up the Google Webmaster Tools if you want to see all that Google sees.

MSN and Yahoo are generally send zero traffic compared to Google.

For instance, for the term "SEO Company" i rank:

#6 on MSN
#7 on Google
#8 on Yahoo

So "very" similar rankings for comparison, MSN & Yahoo send 1 visitor combined for every 100 from Google, so 99% traffic is coming from Google.

 

Link:yoursite show most important links, not ALL links. Google ignore to SHOW all backlinks. Use a tool for BL and you can see exactly what BL`s you have!

 

They do show all of the backlinks....you just have to use Google Webmaster Tools to see them all.

 

google doesent count all backlinks as valid backlinks.
they also dont count links from sites with 30+ links
they also dont count links from all link directories
they don't count paid links(from recently) and so on...
only "natural", quality and related links count!

 

As I had analyzed, yahoo and msn give more value for Quantity of baclinks. As far as google is concern they have various parameters to evaluate the link. So it’s very difficult to get quality backlink which can pass google link filter to some extent. This is why google give most relevant result compare to other SE’s

 

google really only count the valuable links for link:www.youdomain.com and also takes time to show some high pr backlinks

Who told you that pal? Each and every link has its own value.. Even a link from a FFA or casino site has got some value.. the link value cannot be zero but can be less or more..

Google does counts every link, its just that you are not able to see them via the link command

Before concluding something, please be sure, its correct..or u can use the word "may be"

There is no hard n fast rule which link it will include and which it will not.. you cant even judge that..

Still backlinks from directories are being counted unless they are automated and instant add links..U can easily directory link with the above given example..

Directory link are being devalued now, but nothing to relate that with link command.. it still shows..

You are right.. but we are talking about the links not shown with the link command..

Google doesnot shows you all the links because being the number one search engine everyone looks forward to gettting traffic from it.. Ofcourse everyone tries to copies its competitors as well, The more you are popular, you are bound to face more spam..

Think it this way, open a forum, make it popular..along with traffic, u will have to protect it from spam.. as long as its new, no spam, but when its popular.. spam is bound to come..

So does happens with SE's.. people tend to use queries to select out e-mails from websites, to copy backlinks and to send unsolicited e-mails from its results to the webmasters of the websites.. Certainly they dont want spamming.. thats why Link command has been broken since a long time now..and only shows a fraction of backlinks .. illusive.. isnt it?

In real.. Google actually counts each n every link.. webmaster console shows them all as soon as they crawl them.. those who say they only show quality links.. are wrong.. they can show any set of links randomly which you cant even predict why google is showing..

Speaking about spam seems to be a good explanation of why does Google show just random set of links.

And I have heard somewhere that even Webmaster Center shows not all backlink...

Interesting article and again it is kind of idea, and this idea seems to be true. But the only reliable proof can be Google by itself.

I know from a fact that google doesen't count paid links and links from some webdirectories. Also i know from a fact that pages with 30+ links are specified as link farms and don't coun't.
You can read about this on google blog as well as some SEO websites or blogs.
So even if your site has such links it won't improve your website PR in google.
So google doesen't show those links beacose they are irelevant to your PR.
