Google banned site for many reasons one of it is cloaking means search engine see one thing and visitors see other thing, duplicate content of site, hidden text or links, keyword spam.

Many sites are being banned because they copy the same content on multiple pages to get page views. Another way where the website gets banned is cloaking i.e. designing the website in such a way where Google views the website in one way and the netizens have the website being displayed in another way. Further reasons in which there are chances your website may get banned is hiding the keywords such that the background color and the font color matches, this is referred to as Keyword Stuffing or Font Matching.

IF you are doing SEO and for the purpose of back linking sending comments only on high PR blogs than Google will find that some one is trying to get up position. So u will be banned.

Usually there is no warning for being banned or penalized by Google except for the steady drop of sales and visitors to your site. Many site owners and search engine optimization firms are left with little to no idea why they were removed and can be left scratching their heads as to how to get back in. While there are many reasons why a site has been banned, here are a few of the more common reasons.
    1. Robots and Meta Tags
The first and simplest solution many be that your robot.txt file has been changed to prevent search engines from entering your site.
    2. Cloaking (A Big Google No-No)
Straight from Google's website: "The term "cloaking" is used to describe a website that returns altered web pages to search engines crawling the site.
    3. Duplicate Content or Websites
If Google finds multiple web pages have the same content they may penalize each website for this.
