First..this is a duplicate thread of the same in Site&server admin..i didnt know..so please dont bump me up with infracs..thanks..

ok now i wanted to register a few domains..

the cheapest site is ofcourse netfirms 4.99 per domain..for 1 year where as godaddy charges 8.95 or something like that per year..

why should i go for godaddy? i think both are equally good right?

i also already have a few domains on godaddy...

can anyone advise why godaddy is better than netfirms? or both are the same??

First of all you can't rate someone as better or worse according to their pricing structure

Second, i must say that i don't like GoDaddy for many reasons (check www.nodaddy.com to see fee) however

i can't compare a company when they loose at least (excluding the credit card fees) $1,23 per domain with another that makes some profit from it. Their cost is $6.22 for .com so what would you do as a company if in every sale you loose money instead of earn ?

A logical answer is that you should expect to gain the $1.23 from another service you will try to sell to your customer. That is what i don't like. I want to buy a domain and that's all. No promo emails all the time.

Also netfirms as some people say has this price for 5 domains per user

domainsite.com with $6.99 standard with no coupon codes and various other marketing tricks

you can also use name.com which is the sister registrar of domainsite.com (both owned from the same company) to transfer your names with $5.99

I pretty much agree with what domnom says. Domainsite is good although no registrar is perfect. I have used GoDaddy because they register a wider range of TLDs and their bulk registration is quite good. But their terms of service mean they can do what they want, whenever they want and there isn't much you can do about it. I also despise the GoDaddy interface and it can sometimes take a while just for a change of nameserver to be processed.

Godaddy has best overall service and smart account executives. Cheap normally equals less services. Look into executive pricing or affiliate account if you do large volume.

Netfirms doesn't let you set custom (virtual) nameservers.
