I'm one of those girls that can go without makeup, the only thing that matters in life is that I feel and look good in a way that satisfies my personal taste. I wear what I like, not what others want me to. Sure, I may not be able to afford braces, but at least I can brush my teeth and keep them looking good without wasting my money on all those whitening products that hide flaws. I might have the most disgusting greasy hair, but I can always use Head & Shoulders to treat that, no need to go blonde. I might be a little bit overweight, but at least I'm not addicted to diet pills, cigarettes, and alcohol. There's nothing wrong with spending hundreds on clothes as long as it's what YOU want. Guys don't really care about fashion (or they're just metrosexual or even gay/and or are just wanting to use you for sex), honestly, I get hit on more than any of the skinny jean chicks out there and I wear dress shirts, dress pants, and shoes from Target and Wal-Mart! So to end this little rant nicely, just remember this: If a guy doesn't like you for what you are, then he's not worth it. There are a lot of guys out there who are not looking for a commitment, and rather a girl to have some fun with, and that's something that girls need to be aware of. Things never come out right the first time in most cases, and you have to learn to deal with it. And yes, I think girls are self-conscious because of the media that surrounds it. Hollywood and the catwalks seem to have this strict code of everything being "one size fits all" meaning that they'd rather have the people who meet the criteria already than having to adjust their budget to meet the needs of someone a little bit bigger. I remember one of my friends in high school trying out for modeling, and she was like one of the most beautiful people, Marilyn Monroe stunning. They wanted her to lose 20 more pounds, even though she was already athletic and slim, with a great figure. So she declined it for that fact, because it just wasn't worth it. Generally I think people should be more independent of their friends aswell, they shouldn't determine who you are or what you do.
Not only girls, in fact everyone are trying to be beautiful / handsome. No? Simple reasons, to attract partners and be more confident in the outside world. - ads2help

I think we all want to look and feel good about ourselves, but it's not just women, man like to take care of themselves too.
The girls are women are conscious about their beauty...because then love boy/man and they know very well that boy/man like beauty... that's why they are very conscious about their beauty
thank god dat they are conscious about their beauty otherwise our earth would not have been a beautiful place to be in
Have you ever wonder why people driving sport car, listen to rap/hip hop and sell their life for money .It's because "The People"tell em to,that what we call socialite standard ,it like a pattern, chain reaction,if another person do it,why not I,and so on,it created this, look as it,we guy don't really give a damn about it because no one show it to us about fashion and most of em make for woman(we only need to wear T-shirt and a thong,no way,we don't even have a thong because it not make for us,because"The People" told us only woman can wear it)like us,why we like football, drinking, having sex, because people told us to,not because we men,if you just be your self, you wouldn't followed this pathetic call Socialite standard(maybe the government created it)
Because Men are primarily attracted to women for their physical appearance, not their depth. When is the last time you saw a millionaire tycoon with someone short and dumpy?
