I was wondering when people can get their work done without paying any commission why do they still go in for elance etc and get their work done from there?

craigslist is really good for when you need to meet the person face to face. i would not trust it otherwise.

Craigslist is used for everything. Elance etc. on the other hand are targetted at computer based work hunting individuals.

Craigslist is free and a lot of times you get what you pay for. Plus there is so much spam unfortunately on that website that it is very difficult to figure out who might be legitimate or not.

And it is just not the programmers - but the customers - everyone is trying to get something / everything for nothing.

Craiglist does not really provide much protection to buyers and sellers, whereas Elance does.

Which one has the least hassle for an honest buyer?
Rent-a-coder wants a fax of my credit card and I didn't bother, yet.

    Thank you
