Feedback Why Fix Dp When Nit Was Never Broken?????????????

    The "new Design/format" SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are soooooo many reasons for this but here is just one example:

Wanted to buy the script listed in the following thread:
Very Nice Scrolling Today in History Script and Source Code Only $8.00

    https://forums.digitalpoint.com/thr...ory-script-and-source-code-only-8-00.2500064/

Tried and tried and tried but could not respond to the offer mentioned in the thread!

ALSO, there is now no way to instantly go to the posts that a member has posted so as to know what the member is all about.

Now you have to go through all kinds of steps to find the posts posted by a member!

So who was the "genius" who miss-designed the NEW DP ??

Would any one own up to this disaster ?

    Wow... SMH...
Calling somebody else a genius and you been here this long and don't know who the owner is? and you can't figure out the new site...? ya, wow...
There is however an easy fix for your problem. Click that X in the top right corner of your browser window...

So send them a private message? Chances are they are going to see that quicker than a public message saying you want to buy it.

I do not see any X any where over here.

Even if I was able to find the said X, the point is why would any one want to "fix" the very best Techie foum on Earth when there was NO need for it?

Again, why fix it if it was not broken?

Also, what is your reply to the fact that I am now not able to instantly gleen the buyer/seller via their posts, as I was able to do, before deciding to do business with them or not ???

"So send them a private message? Chances are they are going to see that quicker than a public message saying you want to buy it."

Thank you for your helpful suggestion Shawn.

So now I am limited to contacting the buyer/seller via PM only????

And that is an "Upgrade" for the DP.
    Is that right?

"....you been here this long and don't know who the owner is?"

In my experience (and I could be wrong here) the owner is not always the one to blame.

It is the "advisers" to the owner who are invariably responsible for the worst decisions in any business!

It's always been suggested that if you are posting something that has zero relevance to anyone other than the thread starter, you should be sending a PM anyway. So yeah... if by "contacting" them, you mean you want to let them know you want to buy something, correct... that has not changed. You should be PMing them in the new or old system.

"....if you are posting something that has zero relevance to anyone other than the thread starter..."
why do you assume that it would be zero relevance to any one else other than the thread starter?
If I am asking a question about the product/service, then not only the reply would be of interest to others on DP but also, if there is a problem of any kind with the reply, that some one else is aware of, then the problem can be brought out in to the open for all to see.

My dear Shawn it could well be, that you have been very fortunate in your buying and selling and that you do not need any input from any one else about any offers over here at DP.

Not every one is so lucky however.

You may want to take a look at my most recent attempt to purchase a game related site to see what I mean.
That is of course if you are able to go to where my posts are, in this brand new and much improved DP.

That may not be hard, but how is that an improvement on the Classic DP???

How is that better and in why was it needed/required???

    Any logical response?

    Any one?

Holy crap man. "needed/required" Because the owner FN wanted too. WTF is ur problem? You don't have to be such a jerk just let him know your concerns and if he wants to he will fix/change them.

The new system has a better underlying framework. This will ultimately make things faster and easier to build new functionality on top of. Did we *need* to move? No... of course not. The old site worked fine. Which is fine if you don't care about any future functionality.

"You don't have to be such a jerk just let him know your concerns and if he wants to he will fix/change them."
I admit that I am trying to be LOUD here!
But I am only being "such a jerk" because I believe that DP was the very best Techie Forum any where and the totally illogical and not-thought-through "improvements" will destroy a great site.

Let him know of my concerns?
Well there just too many but here are a couple of them to begin with.

    1.
Can not get instant access to buyer/seller posts to see what he/she has been doing in the past.
I am responsible for the product that I get for my client and so it is absolutely essential for me to kn ow what the seller has been doing on DP over time.
I know that we can find the said posts, but why make it harder to do so???
I am astonished that this was not made clear to who so ever was advising you guys!

    2.
    Here is another.
It is vital to be able to join in a conversation about a product/service (before deciding to buy or not buy) so that we can find out what lots of other DP members think about it.
That is one of the BEST features of DP and I really am amazed that I have to say that to some one as experienced as you!

I have not been able to join the conversation about two sites today and so have not been able to buy them for my clients.

Please note that I am a long term well wisher of the DP and am going-on about all this only because if you guys do not immediately sort out the problems that have been created totally unnecessarily, then it would not be in the long term interest of DP.

What is the URL of the sites for sale that you have not been able to post in?

There is no need for it. You will get the same answer/results either way.

Those are scripts, not sites. Scripts are no longer supported in the old marketplace.

And when were you guys planning tell the members, (you know the ones who actually buy and sell stuff here at DP) about this major shift?

May I ask as to why this decision was taken? I mean was there a problem with "supporting scripts"?
