Do you want to target it?Seems yes to me because it is Revenue Sharing Forum which might attract more posters.
As mentioned previously the premium status is per account, not per site... so it would only affect me (personally), not others using the rev share mechanism.
I know it will effect only one account not all participants of Revenue Sharing Program. But all participants are actually contributing towards eligbility of one (your) account. So i asked whether you are targetting it or ignoring being Premium Publisher.
Actually, they are taking away from my eligibility since I get less page views for my AdSense account (since the page views are given to other people). I'm also not ignoring AdSense Premium... I definitely would like to be part of it, I just don't have the traffic required yet.
Yep, there are many of the big sites there - as you'd expect. Odd, there are 2 raw IP addresses that I can see - how many regular people visit raw IP addresses ? Another one picked at random (because I didn't recognise it) - deskadtop . com Registered in August 2005 ?? Already in the top 100 ?? Amazing - and it redirects. Now it could be that this is legit, but somehow I'd find that hard to believe.
http://www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?q=&url=deskadtop.com Yeah, that's crazy. Lots of traffic, and it is PROBABLY accurate. I don't dare to visit the site, most likely the traffic comes from installing spyware on people's PC.
I was just about to point that out when I spotted your post . Obviously the Alexa rank means something (if not very much...), however as Shawn points out, up to 50% of the page views on DP are not credited to his Adsense account (depending on what proportion of users have opted in). Which incidentally, would be interesting to know... would you object to sharing the % of users who have given you their Adsense ID? Cheers, Jamie
For very high traffic sites, as it's generally accepted, Alexa seems indeed quite reliable. They publish good lists of top sites. Of course, it's not reliable for low traffic sites. We may see an experimental chart comparing Alexa ranking with real traffic. Naturally, this chart can be considered anecdotal evidence, interesting though. Alexa has some disclaimers, but they seem confident about the top-ranked sites, like Digital Point [385] and the White House [1,835].
jlawrence, you spotted some questionable entries there. And that's what I meant when I said above I'd consider how professional(ledgit) the site looks to back up its Alexa rank.
Don't get me wrong Liminal, I agree with you. Alexa rank is something to consider when looking at potentially high value links, I just don't place much credence on their figures.
I am with you, jlawrence. But unless the site in question provides their own proof of stats, that's the best you can do to make an educated guess about the site (given that alexa traffic rank is high, once again).
