Why don't you backup your data?

I'm doing some research for an article I want to write, and I'm wondering what reasons or excuses people have for not backing up their data.

For me it was because I was lazy, but after a few hard drive failures I decided to get my butt in gear...

So if you don't bother backing up your computer, what's your reasoning?

I think 99% of it is either laziness or people not even know/think about it.

As for me, I have an external drive, I hook up every now and than and copy all the important stuff, mainly the docs and photos folders.

I have a good back-up routine at the office but at home it isn't all that great. Main reason would be the fact that it hardly contains anything worth keeping because a lot of it can be found online. The internet is a back-up for a lot of things.
