Perhaps your site has not been optimized, or perhaps the adverts are not relevant to what site, or perhaps they just stand out to much, so people aint stupid enough, unless they were really relevant!

I think of ads like they are commercials on TV. If they are very clever, placed for the correct audience (like depends ads during the Golden Girls), and are not so annoying that you want to turn the channel then you are more likely to get clicks.

Sometimes you just have to experiment a little with your ads and placement to find out what works best for your site and its audience....

Not that i know off, if your adverts are not relevant to your content, i believe you should write more on your website, add more keywords that way you should get adds more relevant.

I don't think AdEngage uses keywords ...What do you need to be verified with clicksor? I got denied back in the day and adsung is a piece its been 72 hours now..no email no nothing...

I use keywords a lot, I even got On second page of millions of sites for "PHP Technology" in 5 days.

Make sure to keep your audience in mind. For example, if you run a webmaster/SEO related site. Adsense ads arent going to get much clicks - the audience is too familiar with them and turns a blind eye to them.

Consider your audience when selecting the placement and type of ads you display.

just to answer the thread's question, yes, maybe the ads showing at your site is not relevant. I get pissed whenever that thing happens. I remember, it always shows something about "donation" and some spanish words ads...damn!

many possible reasons but 2 of them could be these:

    1. wrong ad placement
    2. ads that aren't related to your website's content

Place your ads so people click them by accident. Thats the key to success with adsense.

Everyone thinks they can earn lots of money off ads, its the easiest thing on the internet to do.
Even with better spots, trafic the same you might earn a few more cents from google

apart from all what's been said here, perhaps maybe because people are now all too familiar with ads and they know that they can just go back to google or to any search engine and do their research there

It isn't that people don't click on ads, it's just that practically all don't. On average only a half a percent to one percent click on ads, if that.

Try displaying ads that interest more people: Games, sex, funny pictures and stories, phones, gambling....

And put up nice-looking ads. Google ads are so damn boring.
