Why don't I show up in Paypal's database?

    Hi,

I've been unable to add funds to my Paypal for the past 3-4 months, due to Paypal's new identity verification requirement.

I've tried calling their customer service center and seeing if they can verify my identity through my Social Security #. Once I told the representative my SSN, he performed a search that took a minute or so, then told me that they had been unable to verify my identity, and that I would have to provide them with copies of my SS card, driver's license and proof of residency if I want to transfer any further funds to Paypal. I still have no intention of providing Paypal with these documents.

Why do you think Paypal isn't turning up any information with my SSN? One Paypal rep I spoke to suggested that I don't have enough of a credit or bank history to appear in the database(s) they're looking in. It's true that I've never had a credit card separate from my debit card -- however, I've had a debit card for over a decade, and have used it as a credit card on many occasions.

Do you have any ideas about how I can get myself to show up in Paypal's database?

    Appreciate your help.
