Why don't I have a wordpress widgets folder?

Ok here's a silly thing - I just downloaded a widget and went to put it in my widgets folder which is supposed to be located in my plugins folder in wordpress but there's not a widget folder to be found. This was on the wordpress I downloaded to use locally on my machine but I've also checked what's installed on hosted site and there's not one there either.

When I go to wordpress admin the widgets that came with the theme I'm using are there and I can alter where they are placed easily enough.

I get the feeling the folder should just be there and I can't see where the widgets I have access to in admin are being stored.

    Any ideas anyone?

just drop the widget on the Plugin folder and activate. Then go to the Sidebar Widegts option and it will show there.

Add it to the sidebar and you know the rest.

    Hi Bugster
Oooh I had forgotten I wrote this here as well. Someone already answered this for me but thanks very much for taking the time to respond. I've got them working now.
