why domain registrar lock the domain and the real owner doesn't know it?
what is the benefit of lock and unlock domain or it's necessary?

    thanks

A domain lock is a feature that prevents unauthorized domain transfers.

Most registrars will apply the lock as soon the Domain Name have been registered to transferred to them
The registrant then applies the unlock, normally to commence the transfer

I think domain is locked when you register it, but you can unlock it in your Domain control panel. It will ask you some private details like date of birth etc.

123 Reg lock my domains as soon as i purchase until i go into my control panel and unlock them, its just a precautionary measure to prevent any unwanted changes that i haven't authorised
