Why DoFollow-Blog-Linkbuilding Is A Waste Of Time

So of course, a link is a link. And an extra link is always better than no extra link, but before you go out into the wild and build links on dofollow blogs for a long time, think about this:

    • How much authority does Google point to a link from a comment? Google knows when a link is posted in a blog. Why would it mean you are an authority if you have the ability to comment on a blog (sometimes maybe with great inspiring thoughts like "Thanks, I really like your blog")
    • The blog owner can change the links in comments to NOFOLLOW in only 3 clicks, for the whole website!! This often happens with blogs that get listed on those crazy DOFOLLOW lists that attract spammers like you :)
    • There are ways of linkbuilding that have a brighter future, think about social-bookmarking, article submission and blogging yourself ;)

Don't do it, unless you can let some of those Indians on these boards do it for a few bucks. ;)

PS: I'm from the Netherlands and not Bangkok as my "Location" states on the right. That's why I have the right to state that Indians on here work for cheap pay.

So I apologize to you sarcastic suckers who were gonna comment about that. I really would have liked to give you the oppertunity to mention it.

    Joking ;)

comment systems are changeing, new ones appear.

Comment link building has brought me besides pageranks above 4, better serps positions.
But you are right about the relevance of the comments.
Those " thank you, great post" are ruining all the system.

    Thanks.

What EXACTLY do you mean with "new ones appear" and how do they have any different influence than blogs like Blogger/Wordpress?

I'm curious which new ones appear.

Have you ever heard of a Top commentators list on blogs? Those work good and that is why some people post on blogs as the Top commentators list is do follow and the comments are not.

Link building via do-follow blogs is fine, your just identifying the disadvantages, theirs disadvantages to all link building methods. As long as you don't rely solely on one or two link building methods, they isn't a problem at all, in fact just commenting on related blogs can have many positive effects, you would have to be an idiot to avoid it altogether.

Blogs with top commentators, commentluv plug-in can be good for you. Secondly, if you are doing the comments ONLY for link building it doesn't pay off. If you only comment on blogs that you follow regularly, you tend to build a relation with the blogger and might be eligible for a guest post soon. (depends on quality of your comments).

Many people can make the same point about signature links on forum but we are not active on this forum for links.

I have seen results for serp rankings after only 10 comments to a do follow blog. I think your conclusion is faulty.

I think comments on high PR blogs could not hurt. Using combination of other methods will be wiser.

Thats odd... I do it all the time for my new sites and it always boosts them quite well in serps. Doesn't this work for anyone else?

Yeah i think its a good idea to have a number of different link building techniques. So that way you can get links from a range of sources. I also have the 'top commentators plugin installed. It's great because you give the people that comment a dofollow link which is awesome as they deserve it.

I use software to comment on blogs. It uses the contentboss api to generate relevant comments that look like they've been written by a human.

Well, since most of the viewers here seem to enjoy commenting on dofollow blogs or top commenter, and others seem to hate dofollow lists, I will post a great link for all! It's a dofollow blog search engine http://www.seopositions.net/dofollow It also has top commenter, and comment love features! Hope you all enjoy! Rep me up if you like it, please!

I was set my blog to nofollow for every link, so i think with dofollow will have some benefits for your website. Goolge can't know where you put a link because people use many source code for make a blog such as joomla, wordpress ...
Here is one website i found on internet, it made by joomla and function like a blog seovietnam.org, so can google know where i put my link in this website???
