Hi We've been working on a site, http://www.shootexperience.com/ now we are getting lots of relavant traffic but no conversions at all. If you have a minute please have a look and any advice would be greatfully recieved. This page specifically is not working: http://www.shootexperience.com/events/home/CRP What do you think is wrong? Nixies
In my opinion it is difficult to tell what your site is actually about. You have have a couple messages scroll through the banner and they are gone forever. Frankly I had to refresh to read the them because while they disappeared I was looking at other parts of the page. I think it is best to be able to identify the purpose quickly and easily when arriving on site. I looked around a couple minutes and am still wondering how the site is used.
I didn't have any loading problems, but there is something funny about this - though I'm quite new to this so I'm not ready to put my money where my mouth is!
I agree with Swedal, the whole site is very 'busy' On the home page I'd lose some of the boxes and move the "What is a shoot experience" higher up as that's probably what everyone who is unfamiliar (me) with the concept will need to know before clicking off. As you have some of the same things in the navigation i.e. photos, competitions, you could use that room to have more of an informative home page to capture the reader and make them delve further rather than just arrive and think, "WTF is this all about?!" As for the Corporate events page, again the text doesn't really invigorate me. There are too many images and not enough text and again, sorry but I find the layout a bit 'all over the place'... do you really need the skyscraper ads down the side for instance? I'd consider having say 3 or 4 forthcoming events showing, with a 'more' link if there are more and placing that up the top where you currently have the images of the mouth blowing the fan and the modern, possibly moving the public events link to the left hand side, then using both columns for the informative text and shifting the previous events to the bottom of the page, so that by the time you've read the text you want to have a look at what's gone on in the past... just my 2 pence worth
I think your traffic is not converting because you are not effectively communicating with your audience. When I look at your home page I find it difficult to determine exactly what you are selling.
I think your website brings new ideas but people have to know first what is shooting experience so you could bring more information about it then the people will be interested.
In general, I like your site but it is busy as previous posters have said. It took me a few second to realise it was abour event management and then another 2 looks to realise it was about photographic treasure hunt event management. The first thing i looked for was some sort of testimonial from a customer. The only thing I found eventually was under the Videos section on the bottom right panel. You have a small reference to the BBC - perhaps you could make more of this.
