Why doesn't MSN go on the offensive?

Why don't they? I mean Google is full of spam, and MSN is much cleaner. Why don't they launch a television offensive against gogle? They could call them giggle or Gowgle and make hay out of the current situation. Amazing.

    Henny,

Valid point about the spam results (yeah, I'm quite sick of google, although I've gotten some traffic from them). Can't a human being @ google try out their own search engine and see what they have done? LOL.

But MSN to go on offensive, I don't know much about that. If people tend to get good results from either X or Y or Z search engine, people will stick to that.

My guess is that they are keeping things quiet until they release their new Windows Vista, and then they will just shove MSN up your nose

Yeah. MS is a little more subtle. They take their punches and just smile at the end of the day. Vista is what they are banking on, I'm sure.

They are, TV commercials are not directly targeted against Google but full with Microsoft products and I get most of my traffic from MSN now and these are coming from quality searches.
My earnings/click has more then doubled.
Officially MSN has gained nearly 4%, Yahoo stays the same and Google has lost these 4%. This trend seems to continue.

Google's market cap is going to be larger than Microsoft by the time Vista comes out. Maybe Google will just buy Microsoft and put us all out of our misery. ;)

I know... plus Microsoft probably doesn't have anything Google wants anyway. Especially not for $250B. :)

Shove it as they may, it benefits most of us here who tend to get a lot of traffic from MSN :)

MSN has much more potential than Google.I hope after successful release of Vista M$ will pay attention to Search Network.
Google is very harsh in hiring M$ higher level skilled employees. So i think M$ will react to Google after sometime.

Yeah, I kinda love MSN lately. Just launched another site in end-Oct and already receiving traffic from them in this early Nov.

No sign from Google or Yahoo yet.

There was a blitz of TV ads in the UK advertising MSN, but I haven't noticed much difference in the amount of referrals, evens with #1 keyword positions. There's also ads for ask jeeves, but I honestly don't know any of my 'real' friends that use it.

I think this search engine will only excel in advertising fanfares. I honestly don't think ask jeeves will remain on the scene if they keep this current stupid way of indexing sites once in a blue moon.
