an average of 4 times a year or less seems like an awful little....any idea why they dont update it that often? seems like they would want to keep everything as updated as possible?
i mean i dont know how google works or anything but im sure it cant be that big of a pain and im sur eits all done electronically so... idk
You can ask this question to google, as I think they are the only one to give a correct answer for it
With billions of pages, Google algorithms need extremely intensive and power computer time to calculate the PR and back links. It certainly won't be easy on the load of their systems, though they have massive data centers, the number crunching will simply be tremendous.
Consider this... If it was constantly updated, how big would the buzz around it be? How many links back to Google have been generated on message boards and blogs by people discussing the mysteries of pagerank? I wouldn't be surprised if it is mostly a marketing ploy...Google's great at that.
Because Google think that the value of PageRank of any page cannot change in a day or two. Sites needs time to develop and become strong. That is why Google decided 3-4 times PR update in a year. And i agree to it. Actually, this is just my guess. Need to ask google.
SERPs can be based on different subsets of algorithms, for us what we can do is only guess. No one has access to Google algorithms except Google themselves.
As far as I am aware, the live Google Page Rank changes all the time however the page rank tools like the one on the Google tool bar are only updated several times a year.
Because it's consuming CPU power I suppose. And there is no need to export the PR data every few days.
as it says in the thread.. Google is updating backlinks in webmaster tools every few days check it out
