Why doesn't Google recognize all backlinks? Using WMT, Yahoo Explorer, Google counts less than 10% of what Yahoo counts.
I think Google doesn't want to count links from all websites (like link farms, some directories, etc.).
They certainly don't show all links doing link: commands in the search engine, however they do show backlinks in webmaster tools.
They only show strong relevant links that point to your site. As well as some links that have been there for a long amount of time. They don't like reciprocal links at so stay away from those.
Google shows like 1% of the backlinks olso they are upfated like 3-4 months Anyway tahoo shows the most but there is no tool to show 100% number of backlinks
I think Google counts all back links even nofollow its just that nofollow is not that important to Google. IMO
I read on DG that Google consider these requests as 'spammy'. An advisor from Google has advised many to use yahoo for this feature. It seems they don't want to be flooded with spam requests...which probably slow their servers down or take up space.
Google won't reveal all of it's secret because competitors is trying to spy on their competitor by finding all of it's backlinks.
any1 ever heard that G disapprove fast back link growth? ..so if thats the true, G simply index "optimal" number of links in given period of time. I had situations when i had like 5 000 bck links pointing to my site with in 1 month of work and G has indexed like 16 - 24 links, on the next PR update he indexed like 30-40 more and so on.. ..last PR update showed more links indexed then ever before. thats how I see it...
here is a simple answer, google will show u those links, that are on pages which r indexed by google or they have a PR
Google cut the number right down to a 'teaser' amount of backlinks to reduce the competition finding other businesses backlinks.
