why doesnt dp have private ads too?

    cant shawn make more $$ on the side if he had 1-2 private advertisers on here? why not?

    I'm sure there are a lot of people willing to advertise on DP, and yeah, Shawn could probably make a whole lot more if he did. I'm not sure of DP's exact traffic stats, but sites that receive more than 230,000 uniques/month charge thousands for a banner ad.

    Ever see Scrooge McDuck dive into his pile of riches in the Duck Tales opening? Shawn can't be bothered to leave his vault to deal with private advertisers.

    well on alexa his rank is in the 100's which is reall reall crazy..but that could be exaggeraated cuz all webmasters have the toolbar

    That's a good point :p.

    There are plenty of ways to monetize any website, but the more ads, affiliate links, etc take away from the actual integrity of the site. I think everyone should be thankful that Digitalpoint wants this forum to be user friendly and aesthetically pleasing for members, rather make a few extra bucks. :)

    And he doesn't feel like it :p
