Why does your dog bark?

Please don't ever use these evil things. They are cruel and unnecessary. People in the UK are trying to get them banned.
My dogs bark at people going past so I'm training them to stop when I say "Thank you." I don't want to shout as this makes it worse. They think you're joining in. My youngest dog also barks like hell when she's doing agility but that's just youth and excitement.......I remember that.....I think.

 

I didn't mean for the dogs, I meant for the owners who are so inconsiderate that they let their animal carry on at all hours of the night and torment the neighborhood

I've had several like that in the past and it nearly drove me insane...or did it!!

 

Usually my dog barks at stranger, and when i'm leaving the house he barks also.

 

So now it smells like cat slobber??

My dog used to bark and run to the door anytime someone came near the house. She'd never allow anyone to actually come inside! But now she's getting old and not doing well. She doesn't do much but lay on the couch.

 

Our dogs bark every time they hear another dog being walked out front. Or whenever someone knocks at our front door.

 

I was expecting some creepy "lucky cat" type of comment in reply to that one now that Katy's avatar is female again

 

I've figured out that my dog has different barks.She barks happily and wags her tail if she knows who is at the door.Then she barks and acts like she's ready to attack if she doesn't know who it is.She also barks when she first goes to sleep.She'll move her paws and stuff,too.

 

My Dog bark if he see some one new and when he is hungry..

 

I don't have a dog because they bark too much and shed hair.

 

I'm still waiting on that funny dog tale.

 

I killed my neighbors dog because he used to bark every night ... i asked my neighbors to ask him stop barking as cuz of that m not able to sleep .. but they did nothing .. so i killed him !!!

 

My dog does not bark. It talks. It's one of those barks that goes "Woowoowoowoowoowoo" but in a really deep voice.....LOL

BTW...My dog is a Rottweiler/Alsation Cross. It's a big dog but wouldn't hurt a fly (unless she wanted to give that fly a good lick!!)
