Some people have established sites and yet they complain that Google sends 90% or more of their search traffic. This should not be the case considering yahoo has more around 25-30% of the search market. Why the anamoly?
The percentage of traffic from Google is so high that the percentage of others seem to be negligible. That may be the possible reason.
because google has most of the market, people focus on getting listed in google, not yahoo. as a result people have a higher ranking in google for their chosen keywords than they do in yahoo.
Yahoo and Google search ranking algorithms are different and most of the SEO techniques available on the net and what people practice is aimed at better rankings on Google. This may be the reason for more traffic from Google.
We work both at yahoo and google with SEO and even though we still come up well in yahoo, we never get close to the same traffic as from google - anyone have any recent and realible search market percentage stats.
I get more traffic from live than I get from yahoo, and I rank well for some popular search terms in yahoo, is yahoo overrated?
