Why does Yahoo hate me so much?

I dont get it. I was doing very well in Yahoo with the mortgage site in my sig. Then one day in mid August i just pretty much completely stopped getting any traffic. I went from like 200 searches a month to like 10. I know they changed the algorithm but wth? At this same time frame, some woman copied my site and design word for word and I threatened to sue her if she did not take it down. She took it down asap. I have emailed Yahoo twice and they told me there was no penalties against my site ever. Anyone ever had this happen?

BTW - google has steadily increased as the site ages and I build links

The best suggestion I can give you is to focus on google rather than yahoo, thats my opinion anyways.

That is what I am doing, I just would not mind the Yahoo traffic either. I dont see how that algorithm change could effect my site so much.

That's actually some bad advice. I wouldn't hire any "SEO Expert" who would even imply that. One should never be reliant on a single Search Engine for SERPs traffic.

Currently, it may be best to use Yahoo's siteexplorer to submit your sitemap. Your site may no longer be SEO friendly to Yahoo - have a read here http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=488172 on how to optimise for Yahoo - you may have done some of the things already, but may find some good improvements you have not yet implemented.

Thanks for those tips but I have implemented pretty much all of those all ready. Like I said, my site was doing very well in Yahoo and I didnt change anything. Then one day, Yahoo dropped a bunch of pages and decided to drop my SERPs too and there was no dupe content penalty or any other penalty according to Yahoo staff.

Here is an example of why I am scratching my head. I optimized my homepage for "Cleveland Mortgages" and if you search that in Yahoo, my site comes up on the second page in the top position, but its my FAQ page...wth?

You might need to improve your keyword for search at Yahoo.

if search for : "cleveland ohio mortgage" your site position 2

if search for: "ohio mortgae" or "mortage" your site not in first 3 pages

this might be one of the reason drop in Yahoo traffic.
