AFAIK, Wikipedia consists of volunteers from all over the world, and they don't have a payroll. So why are they seeking $6 M in donations? I don't suppose that their servers cost $6 M
Servers / Hosting / Development Costs and probably they do this every year and so probably the complete years expense. Even We support it. Check this
I remember I read the news from authoritive media that wikipedia is facing financial difficulties too . It is a several month old news . That might be the reason they need donation .
6 mill thats an exageratio for servers for 2 moths looool i dont think even 6 mill would be enough to keep it up at that rate. 6 mill must do alot more for them
Server costs, definitely. Wikipedia is and has been one of the most popular websites ever. I just hope they don't have to resort to ads...

WikiMedia group is a charitable organization which also owns wikipedia. So to run such large corp..they definitely need funds. Dont they?
