Can someone tell me why http://free-playstation-3.blogspot.com/ ranks so well for the keywords free ps3? (no, this isn't my site, it's my competition...). I've spent a lot of time building backlinks and doing onpage SEO and he still ranks so well, with what seems to be very few backlinks. Is it because he's on Blogger? Can someone with knowledge tell me maybe 5 things that he's doing that make him so successful? Thanks!
Blogger is strong yes but here is the reason that the site is strong: The site is a PR5 with plenty of support from high PR sites as it seems they did some power linking to get the good rank and they also did some pretty good keyword targeting with their links. You can go HERE and type their URL in tho see what I am talking about!! PM me your URL and let me take a look at yours and see how you are structured if you want to.
There are a lot of sites that are PR5 or higher that are linking to the site. There is very good targetting of a single keyword/keyphrase on the site. HOWEVER: The site is not getting a ton of traffic... most of the traffic it DOES get is Canadian traffic... very unusual indeed. It reminds me of the site http://www.cherryone.com. HUGE PR but no traffic. What's the point? I'll take my PR5 web site that does 50X the traffic this site does any day of the week over an inflated PR.
I'd been using the Google toolbar to find backlinks, and it only gave me 4. That validrank tool is AMAZING! Exactly what I needed. Now I can go and follow what he is doing - hopefully better than him too! Luckily many of the blogs he posts in are of interest to me so I won't have to spam. Mamina - how can you tell where his traffic is coming from? He's Canadian (as am I).
